i think it is safe to say that tuesday 31st august 2010 has officially earnt its lable as "a bad day". not only did i turn the tv on this morning and was informed that it was the last day of summer but after that a series of unfortunate events were headed my way :
my parents we're both at work so i was forced into looking after my little sister who ran into my room at some ungodly hour telling me it was "time to wake up". after the third ten minute interval of my living alarm clock prancing into my room i eventually thought to myself "look caitlin, you're getting no more sleep this morning" and dragged my self out of bed. have you ever stood up too quickly and gone temporarily blind? yeah? well i thought my brain was shutting down and i was about to die, so i sat down for a minute to regain my eyesight. having recovered from my brief mental breakdown, i went down stairs and that was where i was informed of the end of our summer that never was. even though we hardly even saw a ray of sunshine, it still depressed me to know that even the chance of getting a tan - minus the smell of curry/biscuits - had gone and now i have to wait a full year to get that slim chance back :'(.
the next event of unfortunateness (is that a word? ah well, it is now) came when i attempted to fix my broken ipod for the 284th time (that may be slightly exaggerated...) and failed miserably yet again. someone spilled a drink on it at my party a couple of months ago and its not played any music since, but this time was the last time i was going to fail at fixing it, the time had come to seek proffessional apple men's help to see what the problem was. so when my dad got back from work he took me to meadowhall to get it fixed.
i've got some lovely new shoes that we're a bargain from primark the other day, i'll have to post a picture of them in my next post, so i pulled them on and got in the car but when we got to meadowhall halfway to the apple shop they started to rub me so now i have two new matching blisters on each heel which hurt... a lot. what felt like a painful mile later we got to the apple shop and stood in the line which took forever for us to get to the front of and were served by this guy with a name tag that said tom. tom asked us what we wanted while holding a fancy ipad, and i told him what was wrong, so i watched him do everything i'd already done again, he turned it on and off, reset it, looked down the headphone hole and blew down it abit, then told me it was water damaged. like i hadn't known for the past 2 months. then pulled out this booklet and scrolled his finger down this list of incredibly high prices. naturally mine was the highest. so i now have to pull £126 out of the air to fix my ipod which i am lost without.
so after a painfully quiet car journey home i sat down at my laptop and found out that one of my best mates had just been cheated on by her boyfriend which made me absolutely fuming, so i rang her to see how she was, and sent her dick of an ex-boyfriend an angry mail message on facebook. i don't think i'll be seeing much of him anymore - his loss, he shouldn't treat people like crap. as you can imagine i was ready to write a very angry blog post until i logged in and saw i had gained a new follower. so thankyou Katie, who ever you are for making my day that much more bearable :D
now i'm happy happy happy :-)
